Canada to cut immigration numbers, government source says

In the Immigration Levels Plan released today, the government has announced the following reductions in targets for permanent resident admissions:

2025: 395,000 – down from the 485,000 target for 2024. 2026: 380,000 – down from 500,000 target in 2024-2026 Levels Plan. 2027: 365,000 – down from 500,000 target in the 2024-2026 Levels Plan.

With this year’s levels plan, we have listened to Canadians. We are reducing our permanent resident targets. Compared to last year’s plan, we are:

reducing from 500,000 permanent residents to 395,000 in 2025 reducing from 500,000 permanent residents to 380,000 in 2026 setting a target of 365,000 permanent residents in 2027

省提名削减比较多，原来 Plan 里的每年 120,000 减少到 每年 55,000，减少了一半多。

In-Canada Focus（主要是CEC）在新的 Plan 里是逐年递减的：82,980 (2025) 75,830 (2026) 70,930 (2027)

难民和人道主义人数也明显减了

特意查了一下，对比level plan变化，主要是省提名，family, refugee ，三类减少，三项减少的名额差不多9万多。
