日本2024年的電気通信工学学部入学生数量只有23760人，但是2024年中国普通本科批计算机类专业计划招生43.5万人，电子信息类计划招生超28万人，电气类专业计划招生人数接近9.2万人。这都是官方数据。
日本电气通信工学还包括计算机，电子信息，通信。而中国光是计算机学生数量就是日本三类之和的20倍。但是能用这么少的人维持比中国更高技术的半导体行业和公司确实厉害，但是优势主要在存量技术上，比如先进制造设备，机床，材料等。增量技术就容易被中国的海量工科学生卷起来，比如互联网。
总之日本人才越来越不足了，IT领域确实很缺人。
